A few months ago I shared our story about our youngest son’s vision journey. (You can read that here.) We are still walking the road of vision loss and trying to correct his muscle issues. While we find ourselves here, we are trying to make the most of our situation by seeking out resources that will help Silas the most.
This summer one of the best investments we made was getting Silas some prescription goggles. Y’all!! These are the best!! It has been such a game changer for us. We are frequently swimming and visit the beach every summer. Last summer we did not have anything for him when we were swimming and it really hindered his progression.
He absolutely loves being able to see while he is swimming. They are so comfortable that he doesn’t hesitate to keep them on. As a mom, this makes my heart happy knowing that he can see while swimming and playing in the water with his siblings and friends.
We got his goggles from the same place we purchase his glasses, Goggles N More. The tint is super helpful in the bright sun.

The strap is latex free and Silas says it’s very comfortable. The adjustment “buttons” on the side are very easy to use as well.
The Goggles N More goggles are awesome and I can’t say enough about them, but I want to give you my one and only negative critique of them. When you purchase regular, everyday prescription glasses it is easy to tell which eye is which. However, with these goggles, it is very hard to tell which eye is which. It is also hard when you have a preschooler who can’t really tell you if the lenses are on the right eye or not.
If I had to tell you one thing that would make these goggles absolutely perfect, it would be to add some sort of marking on the side of the goggles (like L or R). A lot of times earbuds or headphones have L and R printed very discreetly on the side, this would, in my opinion, make these goggles a step above the rest.
We are so glad we took the step to purchase these for Silas and will continue to purchase them each summer. His vision is so important to us and we want him to be able to function full throttle even when swimming and participating in summer activities. (He has even worn them in the bathtub. Ha!)
